Teen On Bike Hit By Truck, Suffers Minor Injuries

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A teen on a bike suffered minor injuries after being hit by a pick-up truck Friday.

According to police, the 18-year-old cyclist was riding in the wrong lane when a truck traveling North on SE California turned West onto Sage. It was at that moment that the truck struck the teen.

The bike was crushed but the teen escaped with "code yellow" injuries, not considered serious.

Crews were initially dispatched to Southeast Sage and California around 1:20 p.m. Friday where someone reported that a child had been hit by a car.
