NEOSHO RAPIDS, Kan. (WIBW) - A court date is set for one of two people allegedly involved in an attempted home invasion last Wednesday that left one suspect shot.

KVOE reports 30-year-old Rodney Yowell of Dunlap will make his first appearance in Lyon County District court next Monday.

He and his 35-year-old cousin Gary Yowell are accused of breaking into a home three miles north of Neosho Rapids.

The Sheriff says the home's owner, Ronald Sleisher, shot Hary and held Rodney at gunpoint until authorities arrived.

Gary Yowell remains at a Topeka hospital.

Authorities say Sleisher will not face charges because he was defending himself.
