TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- County Commissioners heard today from the finance director concerning Shawnee County switching banking institutions.
On January 10th, county services awarded a new banking contract to UMB Bank for a period of one year.
Today Finance Director Simon Martinez asked commissioners to approve an extension of the contract from one year to four years.
Shawnee County recently ended a five year contract with US Bank. The switch would also coverd the credit card program at Shawnee County.
The motion was passed two to zero with Commissioner Bob Archer abstaining.
