TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- County Commissioners approved Sheriff Herman Jones' request for a new radio service monitor.

It will serve as a backbone for the counties new $12.1 million digital radio system that commissioners approved last year.

The device will be used for monitoring and checking mobile units. Sheriff Jones says the new device keeps the county compliant with FCC frequency standards.
