TOPEKA, Kan (WIBW) -- The proposed "Victory Village" veterans housing project is on the Topeka City Council’s agenda for next week.

Council members heard an update on it Tuesday during their work session.

Brad Reiff, the interim director of Housing and Development, briefed council members on a public meeting held February 27th.

“Victory Village" would be located on the southeast corner of the Veteran’s Affairs property.

The nearly $4 million project would include 30 housing units, with preference given to homeless veterans.

Mayor Bill Bunten expressed safety concerns about the potential for tenants with psychiatric problems.
