TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Topeka bank is taking an extra step in encouraging support of the United Way.

CoreFirst Bank and Trust is once again matching contributions from area small businesses that give to the United Way of Greater Topeka's annual fundraising campaign for the first time.

Campaign ambassadors will be calling small businesses Friday, Oct. 19, in a phone blitz designed to encourage participation.

CoreFirst's John Fager hopes businesses consider giving to this important effort. He says it's a win-win when corporations can partner with the United Way to help make the community better for everyone.

CoreFirst will match up to $5,000 in new small business contributions. It's the 11th year they've done so.
