(WIBW) - Kansas consumers may have the opportunity to take part in a billion-dollar settlement.
Ten LCD flat screen manufacturers have agreed to a $1.1 billion settlement. It covers purchases of monitors, televisions or laptops from 1999 to 2006. Customers may collect varying amounts, with no receipt required for smaller claims. Deadline for filing is December 6th.
Companies participating in the settlement are: Chimei, Chunghwa, Epson, Hannstar, Hitachi, Samsung, Sharp, Auo, LGD and Toshiba.
The settlement agreement was made with the District of Columbia and 24 states: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Vermont, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
