TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Topeka's veterans and veterans all over the nation have given so much for the country, and Congresswoman Lynn Jenkins wans to make sure none of them get left behind.
She hosted a Veterans' Resource Fair at the VA Medical Center on Gage Blvd.
Various support groups and companies were there offering services and programs to veterans who are back in civilian life. Services are also provided for veterans' family members.
Any organization who offers assistance could set up a table.
Jenkins said services and programs are vital to veterans so they can get jobs and reconnect after serving.
"A lot of times veterans exit the service and they don't know what services are available to help them, and they've given so much," Jenkins said. "It's a great educational opportunity for everyone and they enjoy each other's company, so it's a little bit of a social event as well."
Mor than 200 people visited the resource fair.
