TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Shawnee County is looking to upgrade its technology.

Commissioners heard today from Information Technology Director Pat Oblander. He wants to purchase a virtualization platform, to support most of the county's servers and other aging main frame systems.

It would cost $1.55 million or just over $310,000 a year for five years. Commissioner Bob Archer says it's important to keep systems up to date. County Commissioners unanimously approved today's contract.
