TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Two men who had resisted extradition from Texas are in Shawnee County Tuesday.
Gabino Alcala and Benjamin Anaya had their first appearance in Shawnee County court.
Both are charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder in the October shooting death of Ashley Alcala.
The two are charged along with Alcala's husband Manuel and her mother-in-law Manuela.
Gabino Alcala is Manuel Alcala's brother. Anaya is a family friend.
Both defendants had their bond set at $1 million and their next hearing on February 7.
