Clerks Plead No Contest To Selling Liquor To Teen In DUI Fatality Crash

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Two clerks at a Topeka liquor store have pleaded no contest on charges of furnishing liquor to a teen found guilty

Hunter Hillmer was found guilty in December in the March death of 15-year-old Maddie Naill.

Paul Smith and Moses Jackson are charged with selling alcohol to Hunter Hillmer the day of the fatal accident. Both pleaded no contest today in court.

Smith and Jackson were each sentenced to six months in jail followed by 12 months of probation, and a $200 fine. Neither men will serve time in jail.

Hillmer will be sentenced on February 21. He faces nine years in prison.
