TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Residents were able to have their questions about various signs answered during a meeting Monday.
The City of Topeka held a question and answer session over the lunch break to discuss potential changes to temporary signs and electronic message centers.
They include restrictions on brightness and flashing for LED signs and putting time limits on special event signs.
The proposals are part of the Capital City's improvement process to modernize land development codes.
"We actually don't have regulations for electronic message centers so we need to build this from the ground up," said Bill Fiander, Planning Director for the City of Topeka. "It's very important to have sign companies, to have businesses, to have citizens tell us what are their values in signs and how they want the community to look".
A final meeting will run until 6:30 at the city's Holliday Building on S.E. Madison.
