Church Offers Reward For Return Of Stolen Statue

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Topeka church is offering a reward for the return of its statue.

The 10-foot-tall bronze sculpture called "Forgiven Man" was stolen from the outside First Congregational Church at SW 17th and Collins.

Police received a report early Wednesday morning that two men in a two-tone extended cab pickup loaded up the statue and took off. The suspects were gone by the time officers arrived just a few minutes later.

Church officials are offering a $2,000 reward - no questions asked - for its safe return. Anyone with information should contact Topeka Crime Stoppers at 785-234-0007.
