TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Nearly one hundred children gathered inside the state capitol to take a stand against child abuse.

Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt along with children from every Kansas county teamed up to kickoff a new campaign called 105 reasons to prevent child abuse in Kansas.

KCSL organizers believe taking care of our children while they are still in the early stages of life can ensure a brighter future for everyone.

Vicky Roper of KCSL said, "We know taht for every dollar spent in the early years, it saves us seven dollars on the back end on things like work productivity, special education services and other things. It becomes really important as a community to support our young families and young children."
