TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A short police chase Wednesday night ended with a wanted felon crashing into another vehicle.
Topeka Police say an officer tried to stop 38-year-old Jamie Allen Sigman just after 6 pm at SW 6th and Franklin for traffic violations. Police say he took off and lost control of his pickup near SW 6th and Fairlawn, hitting the curb and stalling the engine.
As the officer approached, police say a passenger jumped out and ran while Sigman restarted the truck and took off again. The pursuit ended when Sigman hit another pickup at SW 17th and Macvicar. The driver of that vehicle was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Police say Sigman ran, but officers arrested him a short time later on charges including felony fleeing, felony DUI, leaving the scene of an injury accident, traffic violations, felon in possession of a firearm and a fugitive warrant from the state of Indiana.
The passenger who ran from Sigman's vehicle is described as a white man in his late 20s, unshaven, wearing a gray hoody and shorts. Anyone with information on what unfolded should contact detectives at 785-368-9400 or Crime Stoppers at 785-234-0007.
