Car Stolen, Set On Fire In Manhattan

MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- Riley County police and the Manhattan Fire Department are investigating a car theft and apparent arson.

Sometime between January 8, 2013 at 9 PM and 2:20 AM on January 9, 2013 a 2000 Hyundai Tiburon was stolen from 18-year-old Terrazas Marquez of Manhattan.

Just before 2:30 AM, fire crews were called to the 200 block of Knox Lane where they found the car engulfed in flames. Firefighters extinguished the fire.

The cause of the car fire is listed as incendiary. The estimated loss is $3,500.
