Candidates Speak Out At Forum Held At Topeka High

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-Local candidates for the Kansas state's house, senate and board of education seats spoke out in an open forum at Topeka High School this evening.

The candidates discussed their views on issues ranging from the use of school vouchers, to property taxes.

A few races look to be heating up after the forum. Redistricting pits a pair of incumbents against each other in the house's 53rd district. Republican Mike Burgess and Democrat Annie Tietze both attended.

Also taking part veteran incumbent Democrat Anthony Hensley and Republican newcomer Casey Moore representing the state's 19th district.
