Topeka officials have shut down SE California between 32nd and 35th because of a gas main that ruptured Friday morning about 8:00 a.m.
Utility crews were called to the scene and shut off the gas supply. There was no fire or explosion connected with the break.
Officials say motorists should use 29th to Adams and then to 37th but expect California should be reopened for traffic by 2:30 p.m.
