AUGUSTA, Kan. (KAKE) -- A Butler County woman pleaded guilty Friday to second-degree murder in the death of her brother last year.
Susan L. May was initially charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 55-year-old Richard Hrejsa, and was set to go to trial later this month.
May's daughter, Nicole May, testified in court alleging her mother shot and killed Hrejsa on September 18th. His body was found in May's backyard the following month.
The charges of interference with judicial process, criminal desecration of a body, and interference with law enforcement officer were dismissed.
May's sentencing is scheduled for March 27 at 1:30 p.m.
