TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Traffic along a section of the Kansas Turnpike slowed down Thursday when a pickup truck caught fire.

A pickup pulling a trailer caught fire just after 12:30 pm, east of the south Topeka interchange.

Shawnee Heights Fire officials say the driver told them he noticed smoke and thought it was coming from his trailer wheel, but then saw flames from the truck's front passenger side.

Crews quickly put out the fire. No one was hurt.

Fire officials were investigating exactly what sparked the fire.
