TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A national organization has joined forces with Governor Sam Brownback with hopes of his re-election this fall.

The National Federation of Independent Business announced their endorsement of Brownback Friday morning at Jackson's Greenhouse in Topeka. The NFIB has 350,000 members nationwide and 4,200 members in Kansas...

Governor Brownback told those in attendance that while he supports big business too, small businesses are the heartbeat, and in order to grow as an economy, you have to grow small businesses first.

Earlier this week, Brownback's Democratic challenger Paul Davis announced more endorsers as well.

The Davis campaign announced Wednesday it had received endorsements from the Kansas Fraternal Order of Police and the Kansas State Firefighters Political Action Committee.

The groups said they support Davis because he has a strong record on public safety issues.

Davis seeks to unseat Governor Sam Brownback in the November 4th general election.
