CLIFTON, Kan. (WIBW) -- People who live in Clifton, Kansas, should boil their water before using it, according to a new warning from the Kansas Dept. of Health and Environment (KDHE).
The agency issued the "boil advisory" on Monday after a power outage resulted in a loss of pressure to the city's public water supply. The lack of adequate pressure could cause a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination.
It will remain in effect until all power is restored to the system and KDHE determines that all of the conditions that placed the system at risk have been resolved.
