TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) --- A controversial new social media policy for workers at Kansas universities will get a second look.

On Tuesday, Board of Regents chair Fred Logan asked Regents President Andy Tompkins to form a work group to review the policy, which was partly a response to a tweet by a KU professor following the Navy Yard shootings in mid-November that killed 13 people.

The policy, which was approved earlier this month. allows employees to be fired if they make statements via social media that administrators consider 'contrary to the best interest of the University."

Logan wants the work group to present any recommendations for changes by April.
