TOPEKA, Kan. (AP)- Motorcyclists also road for those that proudly protect the freedom of America.
The American Legion Post 421 held their 3rd annual Ride for Veterans event.
The route began and ended at Hooters this morning and took participants through St. Marys, Wamego and Burlingame. All while making stops at local restaurants along the way.
Participants said it's just one of many ways to give back to veterans.
"We do a lot of things for our vets here in the community," says Coordinator Richard Baldwin. "From traveling vets through town that need assistance to you know, just about what any vet needs that they're not getting otherwise from any other resources we try to help them out."
The Ride For Veterans event ended with a raffle and no rider went home empty handed.
