TOPEKA, KAN (WIBW)-Instead of battling crime or fires, local law enforcement and fire crew members took to the gridiron to battle each other for a good cause.
The 9th Annual Glory Days Pizza Battle Of The Badges took place this afternoon on the Washburn University campus at Yager Stadium.
Both the Topeka Police Department and Topeka Fire Deparment fielded teams to compete in flag football.
The winner receives bragging rights for an entire year but both sides give much more back to a serious cause.
The Topeka Fire Department represented the Muscular Dystrophy Association while The Topeka Police Department represented the Special Olympics.
The Topeka Police Department came away with a lop sided victory of 41-6.
