TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A well-known Topeka developer has received permission from federal bankruptcy court to auction more than $1.5 million worth of prime real estate.

Kent Lindemuth filed for bankruptcy in November 2012. Lindemuth owned 172 properties in Topeka, including Gage and Villa West shopping centers.

Federal bankruptcy documents indicate the auction will take place on May 29 at 10:00 a.m. at the Capitol Plaza Hotel.

Last August, Shawnee Co. Counselor Rich Eckert said Lindemuth owed Shawnee Co. $527,000 in back taxes.
