TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- A 20 year-old Topeka man was officially charged with robbing a BP service station nearly two weeks ago, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. Darrian Michael Stewart is accused of holding up another convenience store earlier last month as well.
Stewart faces two counts of robbery. If he's convicted, Stewart could face up to 20 years in federal prison on each count along with a $250,000 fine.
He's accused of robbing the BP station, 1401 Huntoon Rd. around 8:30 p.m. on June 20, 2014. Police say he walked in and demanded money.
The Attorney General's Office says he also robbed the Cali Smoke Stop and Gas, 2701 SE California Ave., on June 11, 2014.
