TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Police responded to a central Topeka shopping center Wednesday on reports of a fight between an individual with a screwdriver, and another wielding an ax in a parking lot.

According to police dispatch, officers responded to the incident around 9:30 at 17th and Washburn.

At least two people were involved in a scuffle. Both were armed-- but no injuries were reported.

The owner of HairSlingers, John Emslie, said he saw two guys walking by talking loudly to each other. Squad cars then pulled up and patted both the men down. One of the men was carrying stolen credit cards.

Initial reports from dispatchers indicated that one of the men had a knife and the other had an ax. Police told Emslie that one of the men instead had a screwdriver, not a knife.

Photos from the owner of HairSlingers show more than 5 police vehicles responding to the incident.
