TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - Shawnee County Sheriff's deputies say the man found inside a parked car outside of Washburn Rural Middle School last night died of natural causes.
The man has been identified as 44 year old Matthew Essman of Topeka.
The discovery was made just before 10 pm Monday.
USD 437 spokesperson Martin Weishaar says district officials were notified that a deputy on patrol saw a vehicle in the parking lot, approached it to investigate and found the body inside. He and the superintendent were at the scene.
It was determined by authorities that the man was not associated with the school district.
