Authorities Arrest Man Suspected In Multiple Burglaries

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A Shawnee County search warrant landed two people behind bars, one suspected in multiple burglaries.

The Shawnee County Sheriff's Office served the warrant at 509 SE 35th. Deputies arrested 23-year-old Kiernan Rangel on multiple charges, including two counts of residential burglary, aggravated battery, two counts of felony theft, felony criminal damage to property and impersonating a police officer.

Authorities say he's suspected in multiple burglaries in Shawnee and surrounding counties, perhaps more than a dozen incidents. Items believed to be stolen were recovered from the home.

24-year-old Jamie Cook also was arrested. She was booked for possession of marijuana and possession of stolen property.
