Attorney Wants Back On Lockhart Case

Monroe Lockhart

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - An attorney disqualified from representing a beating and burglary defendant wants back on the case.

Billy Rork notified the court Thursday that he intends to represent Monroe Lockhart. Lockhart is charged with aggravated burglary and aggravated assault for an attack last November.

Shawnee Co. District Court Judge Mark Braun previously ruled it was a conflict of interest for Rork to represent both Lockhart and co-defendant Anthony Talbert. However, Braun has since ruled there wasn't enough evidence for Talbert to stand trial. Rork argues that removes the conflict of interest.

Braun's set another hearing for April 24th.
