TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - The man accused of breaking into the WIBW-TV studios, stabbing two employees and assaulting two others has an attorney.
48-year old Ray Miles appeared in court Thursday. He's had Wendell Betts appointed as his public defender.
Miles is charged with aggravated battery, aggravated burglary, criminal threat, battery, and criminal damage to property. Surveillance video shows Miles breaking a front door window last week Wednesday and confronting employees. Several people tackled him, but then Miles pulled a knife from his pocket and more workers joined in to knock the knife away and subdue him until police arrived.
Miles will be back in court June 21st for a docket hearing, when the judge to set a preliminary hearing date.
