Area Events Canceled Due To Potential For Severe Weather

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)--Many area events have been canceled or postponed due to the potential for severe weather on Saturday.

Artstober Fest at River Front Station 802 has been rescheduled for Sunday, October 14.

Shawnee County Department of Emergency Management's 2012 Volunteer Encampment has been moved to April 5, 6, and 7, 2013. All three days of the scheduled encampment this weekend have been postponed.

The Pottawatomie Tribal Fire Department Open House scheduled for Saturday, October 13th has been postponed to Saturday, October 20th from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The open air Kansas Avenue Market is being rescheduled for Saturday, October 20th, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The complementing Classic Car show has been canceled with no rescheduled date at this time.

The North Topeka Parade has also been cancelled.

The North YMCA has cancelled their football games.

Soccer games at Lake Shawnee and Sunflower Soccer have been cancelled.

SportsZone has also cancelled their events.
