MANHATTAN, Kan. (WIBW) -- Riley County police are investigating another report of lewd behavior in Manhattan.
On Thursday at 11: AM, a 25-year-old woman reported to police that she was approached by a car in the parking lot of Hobby Lobby on Tuttle Creek Boulevard. The unidentified male driver asked her for directions and the woman realized his genitals were exposed.
The man quickly drove off but the woman was able to provide a description to officers. The RCPD's spokesman, Officer Matt Droge, said the department was investigating the offense, which he called "incredibly inappropriate." The description of the suspect was not released to the media.
Police can't yet say if this most recent case is connected to other reports of lewd and lascivious behavior.
Around 3:30 PM on April 30, 2013, a 22-year-old woman reported seeing a man inappropriately touching himself outside of the Manhattan Public Library, which is located on Poyntz Avenue.
Officials say Josiah Darby, 27, of Junction City, was sitting on a bench when he committed the lewd act in plain view.
Darby was given a citation, notifying him to appear in court in connection with the incident.
On Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 3:40 PM, a 25-year-old woman was getting her mail at the Red Bud Estates on Farm Bureau Road when she saw a man walking through the trailer court with his penis exposed, she reported to officers.
A description of the man was not provided. Officials said he was wearing pants but his private parts were still visible.
In March, police were called to the parking lot of the Hobby Lobby after a citizen called police and said they spotted a man seated inside his vehicle masturbating.
The suspect was gone before officers arrived on scene.
Police described the suspect as a white man driving a Hyundai four-door blue/teal car with a Texas license plate.
Droge pointed out that no one was assaulted in any of the cases.
