TOPEKA, Kan. - Helping Hands Humane Society will host Bone Appetit on Saturday June 1, 2013 for the thirteenth time. This annual fundraiser raises funds for medical and general care of the nearly 8,000 animals admitted to HHHS each year.

The evening will feature a meal, pet fashion show, live auction, silent auction, wine auction, photo booth, entertainment, and adoptable pets from the shelter. Tickets are available inside the gift shop at HHHS or online. Festivities kick off at 6:00pm on Saturday inside the Sunflower Ballroom at the Capitol Plaza Hotel.

A celebration of the unique bond between humans and their pets is the foundation of this event. This year, there is much more to celebrate including the organization’s 75th anniversary, the opening of the new shelter on 21st Street, and the soon to be completed veterinary clinic located inside HHHS.

Bidders will have the chance to win KU autographed memorabilia, a hot air balloon ride for two, a casino getaway package, Branson vacation package, stunning jewelry and much more. Other items up for auction will include a year supply of pet food from Hill’s Pet Nutrition and the opportunity to be the “spokesdog” for Paws in the Park.

Through a partnership with Briggs Subaru everyone who attends Bone Appetit will be entered for a chance to win a free one year lease on a 2011 Subaru Impreza. One winner will be drawn at the end of the event. Winner must be present. The car is on display at HHHS. More opportunities to win will be available for purchase at the event.
