American Legion Riders Post 400 Rallies To Remember 9/11

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)__ The American Legion Riders Post 400 rallied at highway 24 and Rochester rd. to remember those lost in the September 11th attacks.

The riders lined the intersection with bikes and flags Wednesday between 7p.m. and 9p.m. Donations were taken for veterans who need help with general things such as paying medical bills or other expenses.

Within two hours, they raised over 800 dollars. The American Legion Riders Post 400 would like to give Topekans a huge Thank You for their support and kindness.

In October, the American Legion Riders Post 400 will be sponsoring a benefit run for Mary Dillman who is currently awaiting a double lung transplant.

Dillman worked as an administrative assistant at the Kansas Soybean Commission and Federal Home Loan. She was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

The poker run begins with registration at noon on October 5, 2013 at the Flamingo Bar (2335 NW Clay).

Route includes Reeds Ringside, Tailgators, Abigails, and Skinny's. Kickstands up at 1p.m.

Riders - $20
Extra Rider - $5
Cars- $20

There will be a 50/50 drawing, best poker hand, silent auction and a raffle.
