TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- Alcohol was a factor in a multi-car accident that tied up traffic at a busy Topeka intersection Saturday night.

Topeka police confirm 53 year old Lori Ann Overbey was booked for DUI after causing a six-car pile up just before 5:30p.m. at 29th and Wanamaker.

Overby was driving westbound on 29th street when she crashed into the back of a vehicle with her Hyundai SUV.

The impact caused a chain reaction that involved four more cars.

Then, Overby put her SUV into reverse and hit two other vehicles.

Shawnee County records show that Overby has a past DUI diversion in 2003.

A six-car pile-up ties up traffic on 29th and Wanamaker.

The Topeka Police Department say that slick weather conditions and alcohol may have caused an accident at 29th and Wanamaker at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.

A driver rear-ended another driver from behind causing six cars to pile up behind.

The driver who was rear-ended was taken to an area hospital with non- life threatening injuries.

Police officials say the accident is still under investigation, but that alcohol and slick road conditions may have been factors.
