Shawnee Co. Commissioner Accused Of Racism In ACA Vote

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A heated exchange over the Affordable Care Act sparked debate at a Shawnee County Commission meeting between community activist Sonny Scroggins and Commissioner Bob Archer.

Last week, Archer voted against sending health agency workers to Washington, D.C. to attend ACA training.

Archer says he voted against the request because his constituents do not support the law, but Scroggins says he sees the decision as racism.

The exchange ended with the two shaking hands and Archer inviting Scroggins to visit with him further.
