TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) - A rapidly-growing insurance marketing company owned and operated in Topeka is making its fourth move in just eight years.
Advisors Excel purchased the old Ed Marlings Furniture building near SW 29th and Fairlawn last year and launched renovations in December. Friday, the company and its more than 170 employees will move from their current facility east of Wanamaker on the corner of SW Huntoon and Arrowhead.
Advisors Excel was founded in 2004 by Cody Foster, David Callanan and Derek Thompson, who met as students at Washburn University. They say the people they've been able to add to their team and work with have made Topeka an ideal place to expand.
They say the new location opens new potential for even further expansion. The building has another 15,000 square feet still unfinished. The trio says they will assess future growth and determine whether they might need to add a second story to the area.
