Adele Hall, Wife Of Hallmark Chairman, Unexpectedly Dies

KANSAS CITY, Mo., (WIBW) - The wife of the Hallmark Cards Chairman has unexpectedly died.

Adele Hall, who was 81, was working on an email in Hawaii when she suddenly felt light headed and collapsed.

She was born in 1931 in Lincoln, NE and had been married to Chairman Donald for nearly 60 years.

Adele was a major KC philanthropist, named Kansas Citian of the Year in 1990 and remained active in several Kansas City organizations such as the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.

U.S. Senator Pat Roberts released a statement today regarding Adele's death. He said, "Our thoughts and prayers are with Don and all of her children and grandchildren. Simply put, she was a remarkable lady who brought a grace and elegance to everything she touched. The generosity that Adele and Don have bestowed on Kansas and the Kansas City region has impacted countless lives and causes."

Adele is survived by her husband., two sons and several grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are pending.
