TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) -- The number of reported abortions in Kansas last year dropped again last year - to the lowest point since 1987, according to new figures from the KDHE.
The agency said there were 7,479 procedures performed in 2013, down 1.6% from 2012. Reported abortions have fallen every year since 2006 when 11,271 were reported.
Nearly half, or 3,722, of the procedures were performed on out-of-state patients. Over 3,600 of them were on women from Missouri.
Four abortions were performed past the 22-week point. No partial birth abortions were reported.
