ABILENE, Kan. (WIBW) - An Abilene landmark went up in flames Wednesday night.
The historic Kirby House was destroyed by fire. Photos sent to KCLY Radio from Kevin Brown in Abilene show flames shooting from the second and third stories.
KSAL Radio in Salina reports the first calls came in after 6 pm. They say no one was inside when the fire started. The mansion, built in 1885, now serves as a restaurant and it had closed early due to the developing winter storm.
So far, there are no reports of injuries.
