A Wind Energy Meeting Blew Into Topeka

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- Discussion on wind energy blew into the Statehouse today.

Community and business leaders from across Kansas came to the Capitol to talk over the true costs and benefits of the Kansas wind industry.

Data prepared for the Kansas civic and business community analyzes nineteen wind projects currently in operation or under construction in the state of Kansas.

Among the findings,wind generation created more than 13,000 jobs in Kansas, including through construction and operation. It's also generated more than $273 million in revenue for landowners and another $200 million for community organizations and local governments.
