TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- An internal report shows Governor Sam Brownback's latest income tax cut proposals would benefit the state's poorest taxpayers the most.
Department of Revenue figures show income tax filers with adjusted gross incomes $25,000 or less,would see their income tax burden drop 41 percent by 2017.
Those earning more than $250,000 would see a 39 percent decrease.
The governor wants to cut income tax rates further,but also eliminate deductions for mortgage interest and property taxes.
