The Shawnee County Health Agency is investigating several cases of varicella, also known as chicken pox in the area.
The virus is a highly contagious, and is spread through droplets in the air, typically when someone coughs or sneezes.
Chicken pox vaccinations can be obtained from the Shawnee County Health Agency in the Immunization Department at 1615 SW 8th during regular business hours.
