TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- The sunny spring weather brought out runners from all over Kansas.

The half marathon kicked off at the Fairlawn Plaza and the city of Topeka blocked off roads and directed traffic through neighborhoods and busy intersections ending in Auburn.

The 13.1 mile trek had participants winding through town and out on county gravel roads.

This was a perfect day to make the journey. The first runner to cross the finish line had a total run time of 1 hour and 17 minutes.
