Rain heavy at times will move across northeast Kansas this afternoon and tonight that could lead to flooding. Severe storms are also possible through this evening with 60 mph wind gusts and hail up to the size of quarters.
OTTAWA, Kan. (WIBW)__ Ottawa Police are investigating the stabbing death of 24-year-old Paul Duane Nicholson.
It happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of South Locust Street. Nicholson was found in a neighbor's yard, where he collapsed.
According to officials, officers arrived on scene shortly after the incident and began life-saving measures until relieved by Franklin County EMS personnel. They were unable to revive the victim. The victim's next of kin were notfied when they arrived on scene.
The investigation continued late Wednesday night and no suspects were reported in custody. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office and Kansas Bureau of Investigation were both working the case.
Officials say the fatal stabbing is the first homicide in Ottawa this year.
