Dimmick Sentenced On Dover Kidnapping Charges

The man accused of holding a Dover couple hostage during a standoff last September will spend roughly 11 years in prison.

Jesse Dimmick was sentenced Wednesday on 4 counts, including kidnapping, theft and fleeing in the incident at the home of Jared and Lindsay Rowley.

Dimmick was found guilty on the charges back in May and sentenced by Shawnee County District Court Judge Nancy Parrish Wednesday.

Jesse Dimmick apologized to the Rowleys in court.

Dimmick had Eluded law enforcement officers in Geary County, was chased into Shawnee County, where he crashed a stolen van in the Rowley’s front yard.

They escaped when Dimmick fell asleep watching television.

When Dimmick apologized Lindsay’s father shouted that he didn’t believe dimmick was sincere.

Right after sentencing, Dimmick’s attorney, Mark Bennett said his client would appeal the 11 year sentence.
