Topeka (WIBW) - The 77-year-old man that crews had been searching for since late Sunday afternoon was found dead Tuesday morning.
Mission Township Fire Department personnel recovered the body of Bruce Rahtjen, of Kansas City, Missouri, from the water at Lake Edun, which is a nudist colony in Southwest Topeka, around 7:30 a.m.
Rahtjen was last seen wade fishing in the lake Sunday. Sheriff's Deputies, Topeka Police and members from KHP were investigating.
The Shawnee County Coroner's Office is investigating the cause of death.
Emergency crews were dispatched at 5:15 pm Sunday to the 5500 block of Southwest Indian Hills.
The man's wife was the last person to see him, apparently in the water fishing. Authorities searched the lake and walking trails around the property.
The search was called off late Sunday when storms moved through the area. It resumed Monday morning, but was suspended briefly when another round of storms came through.
