Manhattan, Kan. (WIBW)_ A Riley County Police Department officer, who works with narcotics is facing theft and misconduct charges, in relation to a recent alleged criminal incident.
At an afternoon news conference, RCPD identified the officer as Mark Bylkas who has been on the force since 2006.
Bylkas was arrested on two felony misconduct charges and two felony counts of theft. He was given a $10,000 bond and has since made bond.
RCPD Director Brad Schoen said Bylkas was on suspension at the time of this arrest and will remain on suspension pending completion of the criminal investigation.
Schoen says the KBI and Attorney General’s Office are assisting in the investigation.
